MINUTES FOR AGM MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2004 AT WILLIAM MITCHELL @ 8PM Committee Members Present: Pat Chambers, Julie Crinion, Cliff Harrison Apologies: Tracy Mount 1. Welcome to all teams present and register taken. It was noted the following teams were absent: - Cumberland, Battery, Joiners, The Coast 2. All teams present were given they’re new fixtures and a supply of result sheets. 3. The committee was agreed by the captains that it should remain the same. Although two new members will be joining them for further help. Dawn Riley and Michelle 4. It was agreed that a ‘team’ cannot play in both the Morecambe and Lancaster leagues. It had to be one or the other. 5. It was agreed that players under the age of 18 must ring the landlord of the venue they are to play at beforehand to see if they will agree to let them play. 6. The format of the league and the way it is run stays the same. 7. Rules for Pool games will remain the same as last season. 8. Bank book, receipts and a balance sheet were available for all to see. 9. It was agreed that a donation of £100 would be forwarded on to St Johns Hospice. 10. The captain of the Regent A Pool team brought to everyone’s attention that maybe it would be a good idea if the Committee was given a small incentive amount of money to run the league. The Committee did not agree and expressed that that it was done for the enjoyment of the game. It was put to the vote and thrown out. 11. It was agreed that it would be 3 teams to go up and 3 teams to go down at the end of this season. Regent A questioned this saying they were unaware of this regarding last season. The Committee and other team captains corrected them that it had been agreed previously. A copy of the minutes from last seasons AGM is available for them to see. 12. A copy of the Constitution was made available for all to read. Pat Chambers said she would use it on the Regent A Pool team if they did not keep quiet and would have them removed from the meeting. It was announced that Geoff Higson, Landlord from the Imperial, who was a friend and colleague, and very supportive of the Morecambe and District Pool League had passed away. It was also brought to everyone’s attention that John Sherwood of the Owls Nest team had passed away. Donations for flowers were given by team captains. Pat Chambers expressed her thanks and would forward our sympathies to both families. The landlady of the William Mitchell expressed her gratitude at how well the meeting was conducted.
