Captains Meeting (7/2/05)

Captains Meeting (7/2/05)
MINUTES FOR CAPTAIN'S MEETING HELD
ON MONDAY 07th February 2005
AT THE BRADFORD ARMS

Committee Members Present: Pat Chambers, Julie Crinion, Dawn Riley, Eugene Courtney

Welcome to all teams present and register taken

1. It was noted that a considerable amount of Team Captains were missing.

Morecambe Hotel Breezers Tivoli

Pier Pirates William Mitchell Bath Hotel

Mariners Cross Keys Coast

Regent Park Bowls Park Hotel Ocean Edge

Cavern

2. Paperwork was given out for the following competitions:-

Captains Competition

Singles Competition

Most Wins and 7 Ball standings for all teams

3. It was discussed that players had been trying to arrange games after the date of hich they were meant to play. This problem went on last season and caused a lot of problems when updating paperwork, so yet again it was made clear to all teams that this would not be happening this season.

4. Imperial Imps V Regent Park A 19/1/05– A complaint was made regarding a skill shot on the black ball. (Ref. Captains meeting held previously at York hotel – decision was there would be no skill shot on the black) K McNamara made the complaint against Palfreyman of the Imperial and also made some further comments on the night. Mrs Chambers said Palfreyman was quite correct and asked that

K McNamara make an apology. As far as we are aware no apology has yet been received.

5. Incomplete Sheets – Team match sheets being filled in incorrectly, no dates, signatures and unreadable names etc. D Riley read out a list of new players of which she couldn’t make out which teams they played for. Please fill sheets in legibly.

6. Discussion regarding the Oyster Bar playing from the Bradford. It was also agreed that they could sign on another couple of players to keep the team in tact until the end of the season.

7. Player Statistic sheets. Players were awarded 1 point for singles and ˝ for a doubles game. The reasoning behind this was some players played twice and others only got to play once.

8. Amalgamation of teams at the end of the season. It was noted that a couple of teams didn’t have enough players so a possible suggestion was for those teams struggling to put forward their names to the committee and hopefully we can save a couple of teams by amalgamating them.

9. Teams that had folded before Christmas. As some teams had left us approximately at the half waypoint of the season, all points given would still stop the same. And no amendments would be made. Ranch House v Farmhouse Tavern was brought up regarding this issue.
