Captains Meeting (06/12/04 8pm)
MINUTES FOR CAPTAIN'S MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 06th DECEMBER 2004 AT THE IMPERIAL @ 8PM Committee Members Present: Pat Chambers, Julie Crinion, Cliff Harrison Dawn Riley, Michelle & Eugene Courtnery Welcome to all teams present and register taken. 1. It was noted that a considerable amount of Team Captains were missing. Pat Chambers said fines would be imposed to teams after the Christmas break. She commented on how important that it was that Captains or Vice Captains should attend to ensure that they got the appropriate paperwork and the correct information. Fines would also be given for late result sheets too. 2. Paperwork was given out for the following competitions: Singles Competition, Doubles Competition, Captains Competition, Shield and The Cup 3. It was noted that the Tivoli and the Bradford’s Shield result was not given in. This was due to a Bradford player not being allowed in the Tivoli so the game never went ahead as none of the Bradford Team turned up because of this. The Tivoli were given the game as the opposing team did not turn up or ring to say they were not coming. 4. The Shield was discussed. After the next round there would be five teams remaining. Ideas were thrown around the round on how we could resolve the situation, which was due to a team being added at the last minute. It was decided by a majority vote that byes be put in place and it be drawn straight away. Next round will be played as normal. The draw for the following round will then be: - 1. Imperial Aztecs or Regent A V Bye 2. Oscars A or Ranchers V Bye 3. Night Owls or Morecambe Htl V Owls Nest / Tivoli 4. Dutchmen or Pier Pirates V Bye The above games will be played after the Christmas break and dates will be forwarded accordingly. 5. The Captains were informed that Tracy Mount had resigned and we are awaiting a letter. 6. Pat Chambers told the Captains that a firm friendship she had with Mike Palmer had been ruined due to changing dates and trying to please Sponsors and players. She made it clear that she was sincerely sorry for any upset caused and would not be tolerant in changing things to please again in the future. 7. It was announced that Eugene Courtney would now be joining the Committee. There were no objections. Any other business: It was noted that Oscars would open their premises on a Monday for some of the Captains Meetings. Meeting conclude: 8.50pm |
